🛡️ Welcome to the Microsoft Security Blog – Why I’m Starting This Journey
Hi there! I’m a Senior Microsoft Modern workplace consultant, who focuses primarily on Microsoft Security. with 8 years of experience in IT, and 4 years helping organizations secure their digital environments using Microsoft’s security stack. I’ve worked with enterprises across industries to design, implement, and optimize security solutions that protect identities, endpoints, data, and cloud infrastructure.
Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand how rapidly the threat landscape evolves—and how powerful Microsoft’s security tools have become in response. But I’ve also seen how overwhelming it can be to keep up with it all.
That’s why I’m starting this blog.
This blog is my space to share technical, relevant, and actionable insights about Microsoft Security. Whether you're a fellow consultant, an IT admin, or a security architect, my goal is to hopefully help you with some of the knowlegde i've come across in my time.
- Understand the "why" and "how" behind Microsoft’s security tools
- Stay up to date with new features and best practices
- Dive deep into real-world use cases and configurations
- Learn from hands-on examples, scripts, and walkthroughs
I’ll be posting once a week, covering topics like:
- Microsoft Defender XDR
- Entra ID (formerly Azure AD)
- Microsoft Purview
- Zero Trust architecture
- Security Copilot (hopefully) and AI in security
- Threat hunting, incident response, and more
Why Microsoft Security?
Originally when i started working in IT, i always thought i was going to be a network engineer. One of my good friends (Also the guy who made me realise that i should get into IT as a job, and not just a hobby), was deep into networking, and still is. So while i was doing my education, i read the CCNA book on the side. Once i was finished with the CCNA, i started reading the material for the CCNP Security. This is where i originally found my love for the security field, i started doing HTB stuff and getting into cybersecurity. But when i was finished with my education i ended up at a company where i didn't do much networking, but i got to take over the whole cloud journey. This is where i started to get into Microsoft Cloud technologies. I started working with our devices, and getting them into intune, started deploying configuration profiles and managing the device. Then i found out about compliance, and conditional access. Then we moved onwards to defender for endpoint, to make sure a device was low threat level to be compliant. I started to notice all the synergies of the Microsoft Security stack, and i fell in love with it. This led me to quickly moving into the consulting world, and here the rest is history.
